For the past several years the Tennessee Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans fought for the right to display SCV tags on our vehicles. Now that we have finally won the battle, where are the orders?

The deadline for purchasing a Tennessee SCV license plate is January 31, 2003. Some members of the Tennessee House of Representatives thought for sure that raising the minimum number from 500 to 1,000 would provide the roadblock that would keep us from getting the plates. Skip Earle, Tennessee Division Commander is determined it will not. We seldom take action without a target or deadline. January 31st is that deadline. At the staff meeting at Elm Springs recently, Skip read the roster of camps and gave the number of tags that had been purchased to date. Many camps are approaching fifty percent. Some were over that percentage! I am ashamed to report the paltry number of plates that have been purchased by members of the Dillard-Judd camp. There is great optimism that we can make it happen.

The recent push to get the job done has generated a rush of orders. We must show our opposition we can get

the job done. You may order as many tags as you wish and display them on all of your vehicles.

Reserve your SCV plate by sending $35.00 to:

Dillard-Judd Camp 1828
Attn: SCV Plate
P.O. Box 205
Cookeville, TN. 38503-0205

Better yet, bring it to our December 17th meeting!
