The Mary Curtis Lee Chapter,
The Order of the Confederate Rose, meets monthly in
conjunction with the Robert E. Lee - Camp 1640 - Sons of
Confederate Veterans, Inc.
Meetings
We endeavor to study the role of the Southern lady
during the 1800’s. This encompasses fashion, etiquette,
needle work, and the life style of all social levels. An
emphasis is placed upon the role of the Southern lady
during the War between the States. Our meetings and
membership are open to all ladies regardless of ancestry.
Other Activities
We participate in a variety of
group of activities such as boat rides, excursion trips to
battlefields, picnics, banquets, research projects,
workshops, period crafts and dances.
Vision
To Bring assist increased community
knowledge and awareness of the unique nature of our
Southern culture; the valor of the Confederate soldier and
civil servant, the self sacrifice of the ladies through the
accurate presentation of the historical record.
