Saturday April 8, 2006 Captain E. D. Baxter Camp 2034 Sons of Confederate Veterans in Fairview placed stones for 5 area veterans.

On a cold and damp Saturday afternoon in April SCV Camp 2034 held memorial services, placed military markers, and honored 5 local Confederate Veterans. Members of SCV Camp 260, UDC Chapter 2693, and UDC Chapter 747 also attended.

Stones were placed :
In the Harrison-Hayes Cemetery for Pvt. John Sutton and Pvt. William H. Hayes.
In the Brown-Chester Cemetery for Pvt. Pettus Brown.
In the Anglin Cemetery for Pvt. Daniel Anglin.
In the Martin-McCord Cemetery for Sgt. Thomas Garten Newton McCord.
